It was the beginning of November this year when I visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant for a shoot. It was for a show that we’re currently co-producing with a German company.

we have produced two series where we focus on the people who have been affected by Fukushima’s nuclear disaster.

This is our 3rd series yet, but this is the first time we’ve stepped in to the nuclear power plant.

Also known as “1F ichiefu.” The landscape we witness there and the vibe it gives off was beyond what we’d imagined.

The damage that has been done to the now-crippled No.1-3 nuclear reactors is still highly visible, but the workers still work day to day to repair all the damage that has ensued, and to ensure Japan’s safety. This is their “workplace.”

To document them working at the nuclear power plant, we’ll be heading back to 1F next January.

１１月初旬、福島第一原子力発電所にて撮影を行った。目的は、ドイツとの共同制作番組。

これまで福島原発をとりまく人々の姿を２本シリーズのドキュメンタリーにまとめてきた。

今回はシリーズ３本目の取材。福島第一原発の構内に足を踏み入れたのは初めてだ。

通称「１Ｆ いちえふ」。そこに広がる景色は、想像を超えた「何か」を感じる場所。

問題となった１～３号機の傷跡は生々しく残っている。それでも現地の作業員たちは安全な日本を取り戻すために日々闘っている。彼らにとってそこは一つの“仕事場”

その姿を追うために、１月にまた「１Ｆ」へ行ってくる。

Geisha is one prestigious element you can’t miss when speaking about Japan’s traditional culture. We also have geishas here in Morioka.

They handle a hectic schedule during the year-end and the New Year’s season – today, we’re here for an interview with them.

The restaurant we were at, is a high-end restaurant that serves traditional Japanese food at its finest, and it has been said that the most sophisticated participate in the ozashiki asobi (games played with geishas).

The seating has got an expensive touch to it, the plates are beautiful and the food is absolutely delectable; that paired with the “omotenashi” by the geishas? What a lively and elegant world we’ve walked in on.

A mini midnight TV show is kicking off on Iwate’s local TV, titled “DANDY no Tobira (DANDY’s door)”

The show is tailored to adults who’d like to explore their curious thoughts on what it is to be a “stylish” human being.

The second episode airs today under the theme, “records.” They’ll be digging deep into the quality of records that have been picking up on their sales in recent years. An era of tuning into records – what a wonderful time to be alive.
